About Villa Kalamonari
If you are looking for a house with full electricity this is not the case …!
Solar energy is our favorite!
Electricity has not arrived there from the official power supplier, so it works on minimum electricity through solar panels (for refrigerator, lights, hot water, Wi-Fi, charging a mobile /tablet/ laptop).
Some devices are not compatible with the solar system such as hairdryer, kettle, electric stove, toaster, coffee maker.
For cooking there is a bottle of liquid gas.
There is a Wi-Fi connection into the house and if someone prefers, by switching it off it converts to a low EMF field ideal for electromagnetically sensitive people .

Panagiotis and his wife Hara have given this ancestral house their personal touch by connecting the old with the new elements and thus renewing its rustic character.
This was a” konaki ” in the past, meaning a farm house that was used as a shelter from the weather conditions for the farmers of the island and their animals.
It is a 65 square house inside a 6 acres multilevel field, single space with one big bed, two couches that can be turned to beds, a built sofa, kitchen, bathroom, constructed with the local stone of the island.
It is almost isolated as only one house is near (but not too near! ). It has a yard and spacious garden and there is an old mill to the property almost reaching the beach below the house.
The owners have experienced the simplicity and the adventure of living off the grid on their vacation when the house didn’t even have lights. Now they want their guests to have a little taste of that.
It is a house that provides a unique experience in the cycladic nature with nice sea view, suitable for isolation from the noise of the town. Due to it being distant from other houses the only sound you will hear is the sound of the waves from the little beach of Kalamonari which is under the house and sounds of birds .
It is so beautiful to watch the sun rising from the sea in the early morning but the most magical of all is the night as you will feel awed from the bright sky and the silent landscape.
You might find yourself looking forward for the night to come so that you start Star gazing !
It is 200 metres from the famous beach of “Tis Grias to Pidima”.
